Drought Response and Water Conservation

As you may be aware, our region is currently facing drought conditions, resulting in additional strain on our water resources. The Wapiti River, the source of regional drinking water for approximately 80,000 people in the Grande Prairie region, is experiencing the lowest recorded levels in 24 years.

The health and well-being of Aquatera customers, communities, and employees continues to be our top priority. Aquatera’s drought resiliency plans are in place, and we are working closely with our Shareholders and Alberta Environment and Protected Areas to monitor the situation.

We are committed to keeping you informed on this dynamic issue. As the situation evolves, there is potential to introduce voluntary and mandatory restrictions on water use.

Aquatera’s water and wastewater treatment facilities continue to operate at normal capacity, and we continue to provide clean, safe, potable water to residents in the Grande Prairie region and our service communities.
