Pre Aquatera

City of Grande Prairie begins providing water and wastewater services to county subdivision

2003

Aquatera Formed

Aquatera is formed with three Shareholders: City of Grande Prairie, County of Grande Prairie, Town of Sexsmith

2004

Assets Transferred

County assets are transferred to Aquatera

2006

Assets Transferred

Clairmont and Sexsmith assets transferred to Aquatera

2011

Services Transferred

All city-provided services are brought in-house to Aquatera; Nine independent board members appointed

2015

Upgrades

Upgrades are completed at the Wastewater Treatment Plant

2016

Growth

Aquatera enters into a contract to provide operations to the Town of Manning

2018

Bylaws

Unanimous Shareholders Agreement and bylaws revised

2019

New Operations

The Town of Wembley transferred assets, becoming Aquatera's fourth Shareholder; Aquatera enters into a contracts to provide operation to the Town of Hinton

2021

New Operations

Aquatera enters into contract to provide operations to the Municipality of Jasper Wastewater Treatment Plant, Silver Pointe and Hamlet of Hythe

2022

New Operations

Aquatera enters into contracts to provide operations to Peace Hills Utilities in Wetaskiwin; operations support to the Town of Millet and Teck Coal Limited
