GRANDE PRAIRIE – Aquatera Utilities Inc., in collaboration with Alberta Recycling, invites residents to take part in the annual Recycling Roundup on Saturday, June 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Eco Centre (10431 96 Avenue).
This family-friendly event offers a convenient and responsible way to dispose of hazardous household waste, while learning more about how the Eco Centre protects our environment by diverting harmful materials from the landfill. A shredding truck will also be on site, courtesy of Prairie Disposal, so customers can safely dispose of sensitive documents.
“Many of these products require special handling to ensure they’re disposed of safely,” says Sarah Kaut, Solid Waste Operations Manager. “Improper disposal can contaminate our land, water, and air, and pose serious risks to both human and environmental health.”
Residents are encouraged to bring electronics, batteries, paint, small appliances, ammunition, and other hazardous items for free, safe disposal.
