Collection Tips
Times
Collection of recycling, yard wastes, and garbage carts begins at 7am and is finished by 5pm. Collection days vary from Monday to Friday.
There is regular garbage collection on statutory holidays with the exception of December 25 and January 1.

Bag Tags
If you have more bagged garbage than will fit in your cart, the additional bags need a Bag Tag sticker attached to be eligible for curbside collection. Bag Tag's for extra garbage can be purchased at the following locations for $3.00.

- Co-op (Marketplace)
- IGA (north and south side)
- Superstore
- City Hall
- Save-On Foods
- Aquatera Utilities (11101 - 104 Avenue)
Only acceptable waste
Most regular household garbage is acceptable for collection. However, because of landfill restrictions, waste reduction efforts and size and weight restrictions the following materials cannot be collected.
Hazardous or liquid waste should be brought to the Eco Centre or other facility capable of handling toxic waste. Automobile parts, lumber, animal carcasses, furniture, appliances, dirt and rocks - can be taken directly to the Landfill where disposal fees may apply
Prepare pet waste properly
Improperly prepared dog and cat waste is a health concern for the garbage collectors. Please be considerate of those who collect your garbage.
Please follow these simple instructions for packaging your pet's waste for disposal.
Mix double bagged pet waste in with your other garbage with as little snow and air as possible. It can be placed in your cart along with your household refuse.
